Show Up Series: Movement Research and the Moon with Soleil Chappelle

In this workshop we will explore reverie through simple bodily movement. Participants will be guided to notice what draws their curiosity in the ever-rolling conversation between internal and external perception. We will discuss how this seed of experience relates to inspiration, creative process, and the archetype of the Moon.

This workshop includes pieces from two practices that Soleil has developed: Archetypal Movement Research (AMR) and Sensory Woven Swells (SWS). AMR translates planetary archetypes into body language, from which movement qualities are distilled and explored through dance. SWS is a practice that uses embodied phenomenology and synchronicity in the creative process. Soleil also offers one-on-one astrology readings.

Soleil Chappelle is a dancer, astrologer, and artistic researcher based in Oakland. She is currently pursuing her MA in Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness at California Institute of Integral Studies and has a BFA in Performance from Naropa University.
